MINOR ATHLETE ABUSE PREVENTION POLICY - MAAPP 2025
"USA Swimming’s top priority continues to be keeping our athletes safe. No form of abuse, including child sexual abuse, has a place in our sport. As a part of our continued commitment to safeguarding our athletes, USA Swimming has enacted enhancements to our Safe Sport policy and education requirements." -USA Swimming
This section will explain and provide educational materials and requirements for compliance with the USA Swimming Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policy [MAAPP]. All this information reflects the latest policy updates for compliance with MAAPP [January 1, 2025]. The educational material and policy below replace all versions previously issued. MAAPP Webinars are located under the LEARN section below as an additional training resource.
All adult athletes (any over 18) must complete the same Athlete Protection Training (APT) as all adult members. Any adult athlete who does not have the APT attached to their USA Swimming record is not considered a valid member.
All ECCC Swim Families will be required to acknowledge and adhere to these policies in addition to ECCC Team Policies. Please find our policy, educational material, and acknowledgment form in the links below. We thank all our team members and families for supporting these policies and our efforts to create the safest team environment possible for the athletes. Thank you!
